While researching I found this page:

It lists voltage values for some popular flashes. 

Anybody has 380ex for sale?  I think that since i have the 550ex I might get
another high power flash like a Vivitar 285  and use both on manual with the
285 triggered with a peanut and 550ex on camera. 

I am also inclined towards a Sunpak 383 or a 380ex used. Power adjustment
would be cool but if I am using E-ttl, it is not necessary.
