Hey George:
FWIW, I think you recall that I had an A2e that was manufactured sometime in
1998 and more recently an EOS 5 whose manufacture date is December 2000. I
could be wrong because some time has passed, but the "feel" of the command
dial on the new EOS 5 seems to be different that I recall the A2e feeling.
Smoother and less difficult to turn but more solid somehow. Both were
bought new so I was the first owner on out-of-the-box cameras. I had heard
that Canon may be doing something different with command dial construction
on this model but sure don't have anything definitive on that. The command
dial on the A2e didn't give me any problems nor has the EOS 5 so far, but
thought I'd toss this in as perhaps the newer ones are less prone to
breaking?
