Well Felix as someone who uses both the Leica M line and the EOS line
professionally I can assure there are situations where one is clearly
superior to the other. In really low light nothing beats an M6 with
Noctilux on it (the Leica 50 1.0 lens). While Canon makes a 50 1.0 for the
EOS it just does not work as well as a rangefinder. In really low light you
can still see well enough to focus the Nocti...with the AF it hunts and
searches....and god forbid the light from hell comes on to aid in AF! And
when shooing in really dim locations with odd lights the AF hunts and I find
it DAMN hard to see correct focus on the screen, esp in those dark finders
of the EOS1n's...the "M" I can easily see and do not get off focus shots.

Also the size issue come up occasionally. I can carry my M6 with 90 2.0, 28
2.8 and 50 f2 all in about the same space as my EOS 1 with booster and 24
1.4L take up. When I am on a shoot requiring a lot of walking and toting
gear I take the M6 lenses and Konica Hexar RF.

As they say Horses for courses. Both are great systems and have their
place. Me I use the Leica some, but probably 70 percent of my work is done
on the EOS...but when I need the things the Leica M does best nothing else
even comes close.

Oh and for those of you who have complained about Canon service...all I can
say is try Leica's...I guarantee you will NEVER complain about any one else
again...In my experience Leica CS is the WORST by far.
