> For what it's worth, Gordon Sinclair died in 1984. It's not some new
editorial from a
> newspaper, as the spam suggests.

I posted the Gordon Sinclair article as I received it and none of the words,
including the last paragraph, were mine. I believed it to be recent and
subsequently found out it was not along with other inaccuracies. For a time
I regretted posting it but now I do not. From the responses I have received
I see that the article made people stop and think for a moment about how and
who their government chooses to support. And it also brought out the need
to fiercely and passionately defend the government they believe in. This is
a global forum of artists from around the world who can come together to
share in a common interest.

In order to avoid the catastrophe of Tuesday from happening in your town or
country, it will require that same coming together. The United States
chooses to participate and influence on a Global scale. Global politics is
a messy business. As such we incur huge responsibilities as well as
liabilities. The choices we make in hindsight at times turn out to be
mistakes. The choices we make sometimes are made without the full support
of the American people. But we are able to go to the polls and vote for
those we feel best represent our values and ideals. And hopefully go to
sleep at night knowing that we are trying to do what is right for a global
community, taking steps that are necessary to insure that our resources are
protected and utilized responsibly.

A wake-up call has been received in this country and we have begun to
mobilize. Our way of life has been severely challenged and hopefully we can
morally and ethically respond. But respond we will and we are willing to do
so with a coalition of voices from around the world. The outpouring of
emotion and support from list members world wide has been very reassuring to
myself and others on this list who reside in the United States. Gordon
Sinclair's opinion (though still relevant) was just that, an opinion, and
this is mine.
