Have you tried an eyepiece diopter on your OM?  I wear bifocals and have
found that fitting a diopter which puts the viewfinder image at infinity
helps enormously.  (+0.0 in Canon speak, don't know how Olympus label it.)
With bifocals, my sight is poor in the 0.8m to 3m range, and most
viewfinders are set at 1.0m away.
Discovered this way after I'd bought in to the EOS system <grin>.
