It seems that the consensus is custom function 11 set to 1, which seems reasonable. If the camera chooses the "wrong" AF point, it can quickly be changed with the press of one button. Why press two if you don't have to? We have varying opinions on custom function 12, so I'll try both and see what I like. The rest seem to vary by application. Looking forward to trying MLU.
