I very much agree, except for one problem:
when I set 11=1 (af point selection with arrow keys directly) *and*
12=1 (start with center af point) as a quick "emergency" override,
then there is apparently no way to switch back to automatic af point
selection, i.e. to lighten up all af points.
Does anyone have a workaround for this? (other than changing CFs back;-)

A second problem related to CFs is this: although you can disable
the AF assist, the other annoying flash, i.e. red eye reduction
cannot be disabled when using self timer or the RC-1.
This really bothers me. Not quite what I'd expect from an (almost)
semi-pro camera body...
