The only thing off putting about it is the fact that it grows and shrinks a lot during zooming unlike the EF XX-35 2.8Ls and EF 20-35 3.5-4.5USM and EF 70-200 2.8L and this potentially can introduce more dust over time than a sealed internal zoom system. Oh well you can't have everything! There are lots of them available on the used market in excellent condition for than $800USD. In southern California we have a couple of good camera swap meets that are well worth the price of admission. One in Buena Park which is very large and has LOTS of EOS goodies and one in Pasadena which is smaller and more hit and miss. If you are in socal I can email the info to you.
