My homeowners policy has minimal coverage for my camera equipment, but I was able to purchase a personal articles floater (FWIW, we also have a floater on my engagement ring) that covers my equipment. However, it only covers the listed equipment, so if I rented and something went awry, I would be in big trouble. :-P
Pattie P.S. I am keeping the used 70-200 f/2.8 lens that I recently bought. The minor scratches on the front element do not affect image quality at all, as far as I can tell. Really love taking ice hockey photos with it.
