Thanks for all of the input on this lens, I was half-way convinced that I would get it and all of the positive responses convinced me that it would be a wise choice. Now I can use the the extra $$$ to upgrade my cheap third party flash to a canon 420 or 550 so I can take advantage of E-TTL and high speed sync. Thanks again, more questions to follow,
