The EOS-1V will AF at F8 using the central point as will the EOS-3. The EOS-1D, 1V, anbd EOS-3 all share the same AF working range which is EV 0-18 (at ISO 100). This is according to Canon specs although it does not specifically state an F8 working aperture. Bearing this in mind, it would appear the 1D WILL focus at F8 like the others using the central focusing point. If someone can explain otherwise, please let me know.
