I saw that too, and it is wrong.  On the same page they also list it as AFD 
for the auto-focus drive.  The AFD motors dont have FTM.

You are correct abut the construction.  It has an AFD like the 28/2.8.

No it shouldnt be L.  The 24/2.8 has a molded glass (GMo) aspherical 
element, not ground glass.  Only the ground glass asph elements are 
considered L.
