Do you have custom function 5 enabled (i.e. set to 1)? 5. Mirror-Lock and Self-Timer 0: Enables normal self-timer and remote-control operation 1: Enables the shutter release button to lock up the mirror and release the shutter two seconds later (Mirror-Lock is also possible with the optional Remote Controller RC-1) If so, reset it to 0.
