I've had a chance to test drive the 15-30 DG EX last weekend. Shot a roll of Provia 400F with this lens, and a few frames using the Canon 15mm fisheye and my EF 24/2.8. The lens is extremely well made with heavy duty construction. Distortion is very well controlled even at 15mm - no visible barrel/pincushion artefacts. OTOH, the lens is EXTREMELY warm. It's like a permanent 81C filter on the lens. The shots taken with the Canon fisheye and the 24/2.8 are neutral. The main problem, however, is the sharpness. It is good at the centre, but average at the corners and sides. Even when stopped down to f/8 and f/11, corners are poor. The Canon 15mm fisheye shows much better contrast and edge definition. It has that "bite" which the Sigma lacks. My Minolta SD-II scanner is in for a health check, and I'll get the scans done once it's back.
