Chip,

        The AF on the ef 15 is slow but with almost unlimited DOF
the AF speed is of less importance.  I sometimes use my ef15 on
my MF EF-M.  When switching it to my eos5 I sometimes forget to 
switch it to AF.  I usually notice only after a few frames, as the 
DOF is so great the camera thinks it is in focus and will let me 
shot a few frames!!
