Yes, that's true. But an EOS 5, even with VG-10 attached is still A LOT lighter than a EOS 1/1N/1V with booster attached. It's not all that heavy, I can easily carry it around my neck with a 28-135 IS attached for a whole day pain free ;-) while I know (feel ;-)) in the evening what I've done, when I do the same thing with my 1N, let alone the 1N with 28-70L which adds still more weight.
