Hi David,

Here's a life tool to help you learn something from this mishap.  Say to
yourself, "Who owns the problem?"  Who has a problem with what occurred?  It
helps when assigning blame to look inward first.

>From the sound of it, your poor lens was working fine until you were
careless, Canon didn't whack the car door with your lens, you did.

You just had a cosmic learning experience, learn from it.  If you hadn't
been careless and the lens hadn't broken, maybe you would've been careless
after you got into the car, hit a tree and gotten killed!  Go out, buy
another lens, new ski boots and take up the slack by picking up a few extra
hours at work.  Quit whining, life's too short or you're too young to
realize this yet.
