Hi Julian,

Fitting is simple (as described above).

Once fitted, it is not possible to rotate the camera through 360 degrees as
the tripod ring fouls the finger grip. This happens no matter which grip I
use (i.e Standard Grip GR-E1 or Power Drive Booster E1. I do not have a
Battery Pack BP-E1, but doubt if it makes any difference).

In practice, this is not a problem as rotation from landscape to portrait
(with the shutter release button uppermost) is not affected.

The type of tripod head used is more likely to cause a problem. Of my 3-way
tripod heads (Manfrotto 390, 029,160), landscape orientation is not possible
with the 390, when the camera has a PDB-E1 fitted. As I only use this
lightweight tripod for going walkabout, I never take bodies with boosters,
so it's not an issue. (Q. "What's the best tripod?" A. "A heavy, sturdy
one." Reply "No, the one you have with you!")

Incidentally, I leave the adapter ring on the lens. It doesn't hinder me
when hand holding.

Hope this is of help.

Regards,

Craig Z
