My last post asking for a summary of the multiple flash possibilities was pretty dumb and written in a moment of frustration. I get the list as a digest and haven't gotten another one yet, so I hope I haven't been flamed for it.
I have thought through this and figure that the best option might well be to get the 550. This would 1)be cheaper than an ST-E2 and another 420EX 2)allow me to have the versatility of a more powerful flash if I need it 3)offer some of the nicities of the 550 such as FEC on the flash body and 3)allow use the 550 as a master and the 420 as a slave. The only real downside is that I would need to have the 550 mounted to the camera...but I do have the OCSC2 as well as the smaller pieces to assemble a 6 foot off camera wired flash. I assume that: The 550 can still be used as a master with OCSC2, is this correct? Also, if I only want an off camera slave, can the 550 flash be disabled and used as only a wireless trigger for the 420? Thanks.
