And you can get a ST-E2 in the future and have both flashes wireless. A future-safe 
decision while you have wireless capabilities already.

Great to override the "automatic fill-in" of your -7 and be sure *how* much 
compensation is being used.

Yes! with the OCSC2.  (and 'no' with the "small pieces" that will only keep TTL 
capabilities, although you can use both flashes off camera with this wired system and 
support TTL)

Yes.  You set it to master and disable the output. Once you have it, read the manual 
for the how-to.
