do the same as you and avoid the use of P-mode, but also set the
costum-function to switch the automatic fill-in flash reduction off. But it
would ofcourse be good to not set this CF so when I do not think so fast,
the camera will do it, and when I do think about it I can easily override
it.

I believe that once you sert the flash to something like +2EV the camera's
flash settings including the auto fill flash are ignored. It would seem
logical as the system sees a setting done on the flash and will use this
ignoring all else.
