Hi all, Just a few words in praise of the Canon 16-35mm f2.8 L lens. We have deliberated long and hard about whether to get this lens. we have been entirely happy with the 50mm f1.4 and 20mm f2.8 but they were limited when it comes to travel photography. We decided to take the plunge and negotiated a very good discount price (at least for the uk) and a friend is buying our 20mm f2.8, so the lens was affordable.......just. We have just got the results back from shooting some boats at a local marina and some candid shots of the local yachties. We use Fuji Reala, which is our usual colour film and expected the results to be good. We were not expecting the results to be this good. The prints completely outclass the 20mm lens in colour and contrast and the images really are superb in every respect. There is no sign of any softness at any focal length and the lens is entirely useable from f2.8. Many thanks to Craig Zendel who advised us to buy it and gave us some valuable time on the phone.
