Re: small P&S

I find small rangefinders to be ideal. I won't use the L__ca brandname
here, but there are several 1960s/1970s era rangefinders that are just as
good:

  * Canonet 28 (see the movie Pecker) -- these are wonderful except they
don't allow
     for aperture priority; about $50

  * Yashica GSN 17 -- a beautiful camera with wonderful lens, aperture
priority; ~$100

I have both of these and am particularly enamored of the Yashica.

If you want something new:

  * Cosina Voigtlander Bessa series -- great Leica copies with fantastic lenses

   * Contax T2 / T3 -- no personal experience, but highly rated

What I usually do is take my EOS apart. I find that if I take the lens off
the body, I can usually fit the camera in a small handbag or shoulderbag.
When my -3 is too heavy, my 1000N fits the bill. You could also get the APS
EOS which is going for next to nothing these days.
