A friend of mine has this lens and he likes it a lot. (It's a 180/3.5 HSM if i remember correctly...) BUT, for a couple of times when he was shooting insects and flowers in the field, the lens lost its focusing ability completely! (Neither AF nor MF would work) it looks like heat related because when he brought the lens indoor for a while it worked again. We did some research and found a few other users had similar experience too. I don't know if Sigma Corp.came up with a solution yet... If they did you might want to do some research to avoid the ones with an earlier serial number...
