What's interesting is that the model name in Japan is the EOS Kiss 5. It's 
clearly not situated between the -3 and the -7 and doesn't replace the A2 
or 5e. Take a look at this home page.

It's in Japanese but it looks like Canon copied *some* of the features of 
Minolta's extended information LCD back. Sadly not all of the coolest 
features, though (zone metering, etc.).

The Kiss 5 / 300V seems quite neat! It may be a perfect 2nd camera or 
holiday camera.

Cool features added to the Rebel 2000 / 300 / Kiss 3:
        * Superimposed 7 focusing points, faster focusing
        * LCD back
        * 2.5 fps
        * metal lens mount!

I wonder what the MSRP/street price will be? The release date in Japan is 
9/21.  What about in the U.S.?  Henry?
