 hehehe ... a bit like when you fit a "protect" filter ... don't seem
to stop people though  ;o)


Painting them black is the best advice.   Unless they are slap bang in
the middle of the lens small chinks won't make any noticeable effect
on picture quality.  Dead centre would have a disproportionate effect
with lens stopped down .



On a lens 50 mm in diameter you have a "BIG" chink 2 mm in diameter.
Wide open that is a whole 0.16% of the lens area you have lost.  BFD.
If you are really anal about flare ... toss away the protect filter,
fit a lens hood and clean the front element first ...
