Indeed, I have the Sigma 8mm fisheye, and a couple of years ago managed to set
it down on a park table thinking that I had the lens cap on, which I didn't. 
With its protruding front element, this put a 1.5mm scratch almost exactly at
the center.  You can imagine the sick feeling that swept over me when I saw
what I'd done!  But as it turns out, the scratch is only visible when pointing
very close to the sun, either as a light blur or the exact image of the scratch
depending on aperture.  Focusing appears to have no effect on its visibility. 
I have yet to see it appear in any of my images, so I haven't experimented with
blacking it out or anything.
