Hey, you guys are great....the mark did not come off with a plain microfiber cloth, but came right off with a bit of lens cleaner on the cloth. Now, why didn't I think of that??? Turns out the lens is truly in pristine condition. (the seller did, by the way, offer a refund or discount..now I will let him know that all is well).
Howard << Have yu cleaned the lens yet with any solvents? Your description of a soap bubble leads me to belive that it will dissapear upon careful cleaning of the lens.
