It takes 4 AA sized batteries. You can use Alkalines, Lithiums,
Ni-cads, and my favorite, Ni-MH cells.
You can also take advantage of many high-voltage packs available.
My favorite is the Canon Compact Battery Pack E with 6 Ni-MH
cells. Canon also has the Transistor pack E Which uses 6 C cells
or a rechageble ni-cad pack. You can also use it with the Quantun
(and others cant think of any names right now) high-voltage pack,
with the appropriate cord of course.
This is a great flash. I have two. I use one and the other
serves as a back-up and is used remotely when more light is
needed, like for a large group shot.
