You could keep it the same, but then you would have to use a smaller 
part of the sensor....;))
(make it even smaller than the 1D, and you can have 1/1000s....:))

It's also the same reason why for medium format systems (even larger 
surface) only lens-shutters will keep things above 1/30-1/60s....;))
