I just fired up my D60 and 28-135 IS for some fall foliage shots.  It is
foggy and misty here and the shutter speed was 1/10th with ISO 100.  Good,
crisp shots.  IS is my honey!

When I said I would buy two, I meant to replace the two 28-135's I have precisely because they have IS! I know people will probably flame the hell out of me for saying this, but I am not nearly as happy with the 28-135(s) in terms of optical quality as I am with the 35-350. Not based on tests or anything, just based on use for weddings, landscape and wildlife (while my 300/2.8 was in the shop) in terms of the "pleasingness" of the images .
