An essay exam. Not since my school days...
16-35L
24-70L ( not yet available, but soon)
70-200L IS
I didn't check prices, but you should be able to buy all those lenses for
3x1500 or 4500. It would be a big purchase, one I wouldn't make if I didn't
know what I wanted, but relied on the suggestion of others.

I have the 70-200IS and I LOVE it. I am anticipating replacing my D60 with a
full frame sensor camera in the not too distant future and did not buy the
16-35 but did get the 20-35 and saved a lot of money. I almost ordered the
28-70, but heard that it was to be replaced by a 24-70 and am holding off on
that purchase until the new lens is available. Since my D60 purchase I have
also bought a 50f1.4 and the Canon 2XII which I am pleased with. I use a
28-105 from my Elan days, but will replace that with the new 24-70 when
available. Assuming you are planning on the purchase of a D60 also budget
for CF cards, a few extra batteries, a BG-ED, tripod, monopod and a flash or
two... It is a fun hobby, but not an inexpensive one.
