I've never tried to carry a tripod on board, either before or after Sept 11th. I would imagine that you'd encounter some problems at security these days trying to bring it into the cabin. Some other list members can probably comment on that.
I pack my tripod in a duffel bag or a suitcase and check the bag. Both my Gitzo's fit in my duffel bag just fine, but I have to remove the central column to fit into my suitcase, but that's not a big deal. Wrap it up with some clothing to protect it. I've travelled this way probably a dozen times and never had a problem. The question is, what do you do with the tripod? Are you allowed > to carry it in cabin with you, or you are forced to check-in it? Which are folks your experiences with that? * **** ******* *********************************************************** * For list instructions, including unsubscribe, see: * http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/eos_list.htm ***********************************************************
