Hi Marco,

There's different grades of plastic as well as different types of metal, so just
condemning something because it's plastic (without any further information)
doesn't show much intelligence.  If he'd said something about (Nikon's) high
eyepoint viewfinders being better than Canon's standard then I'd have to agree,
but that's because I wear spectacles.

Perhaps he was smarting because he'd finally realised that not all Nikon lenses
are compatible with all their cameras...
(and I own Nikon as well as Canon, Minolta, Pentax, Olympus, Zeiss etc.)
