Hi Willem

The sad truth I believe about this subject, is that the features you've
described could easily have been incorporated into Canon's pro and semi-pro
range of cameras, several years ago. However I guess that at least some were
held back so as to be available should Canon need extra features for a new
model. I could add my own, such as in-viewfinder confirmation of sufficient
flash exposure - available on my X700 from its inception in ~1982. (Note that I
didn't write "correct flash exposure"!) Minolta's user-friendly rear panel on
their Dynax 7 was also a step in the right direction - I carry an A4 sheet
listing the CFs on my EOS3 and 550EX as the supplied memo sticker is too subtle
for me. Afraid I don't change them often enough to get to know them, and does
anybody remember the interactions between CF4 & CF11? (Hope I've remembered that
pair correctly!)
I suspect that some of Canon's problem was connected with a corporate
not-invented-here syndrome.
