The EF 85 1.8 is slow  focusing?  This is news to me also.
Mine is pretty fast used on my EOS 1n bodies and even
on my kids Rebel "G" body.  Maybe the person who said this
had a bad lens or was shooting in the dark!

Malcom probably got confused or confused somebody because he wrote first and then quoted. :-)
