Thanks Folks, I got a lot of great feedback from this list and will probably purchase the 85 first but now I have my eye on the 70-200 as a possible solution as well as trying to figure out where to fit in the 100 macro. In answering my question of course more questions are raised. Wherever u go there u r. The 85 has always frightened me because I got my original photographic training from a photojournalist in my teens, and I can clearly see it is perfect for that which means I may be running around my locality chasing down the next garden party or little league game as the local paparazzi. That is a scary thought. :-) peace.
