When going on travel I always take a list of equipment with serial
numbers.
I've asked customs in several occasions to check and stamp an 'outgoing'
paper
and they have denied every time saying it's not needed for personal use.
It's
not 10k but it will certainly reach 4k in EOS equipment.
BTW, it's adviseable to take such a list with you in case you're robbed.
You
need to declare item by item to the police to be able to make an
insurance claim. 
Keep it apart from the camera bag of course!.
