Hi Bob, Only got my 10D last Friday so these are very first impressions.
1. Low light AF seems "better" than my EOS3 when vaguely waving camera in direction of darker parts of my lounge, such as the areas underneath furniture. (AF assist not used.) 2. AIServo. Managed to capture a sequence of 7 out of 7 sharp against a goose landing in front of me - approaching me in a straightish line. Lens was 300 f4 L plus 1.4x extender. Goose plus wings was tending to fill the viewfinder by the last shot. The latter shots in the sequence must have included deceleration as the bird hit the water. Can't remember my EOS3 with the same lens combo doing as well at the same local lake where the birds come close. 3. IR AF assist. I've confirmed, I think, that the 10D doesn't respond to the top or bottom AF points (when preselected) if the IR AF assist from the ST-E2 (or 550EX, I've read on dpreview) is used. 4. 10D's AF simply lost it when I tried tracking a slightly waving flower at 1:1 with my EF 100 f2.8 macro USM. In these conditions my EOS3 seemed very sure footed. Have yet to do any "scientific" tests.
