I'm afraid it's not my story, the camera belonged to a local newspaper
photographer (I'm surprised they use such low-end equipment, but when I
wanted a battery to test the thing, she grabbed another photographers
Rebel G and pulled out the CR-123 cells). The door isn't really broken
off, just that the latch is missing and the metal conductor has come off
the inside of the door.

The newspaper is switching to digital (she has a D30 another low-end
classic) and I picked this up for a song. I wanted a small EOS body to
take with me for "snapshot" type shooting. I'll pair it up with my
oooooold EF 28-70mm f/3.5-4.5 (yes, pre-USM) or maybe use my EF 135
f/2.8 Soft Focus for grab portraits.

The best news is that I may get to write a lease for the newspaper to
upgrade to a raft of 1Ds's! Did I ever say that I'm a leasing broker
specializing in digital photography equipment (photography is an
avocation)? ...and I may get a chance to pick up her D30 for a song.

Mr. Bill
