I wish Canon made a few more lenses like the 70-200 L F4. Excellent optics 
and construction, mid-price, moderate weight and bulk. The new 17-40 L F4 could 
also be in this category. A nice 28-80L F4 with 2/3 the weight and price of 
the 24-70 or 28-70L would finish a basic kit, and provide an alternative to 2.8 
L lenses or much lower cost consumer lenses.
