I suggest you compare the G3 and G5 before making that
decision.  I have a G3, and recently had the
opportunity to shoot a few shots with the G5.  I think
the G3 is superior overall.  The difference between 4
and 5 MP is minor, the the G5 seems to have noticeably
more noise in low light situations.  DPReview also
found more color fringing with the G5 than the G3.
