Hi All,

I've been reading with interest the dialogue on AWB and CWB options. While
there seems to be enough condescending "why the hell would you" type
comments towards AWB to stop me asking the following, I'm going to anyway.

WB is probably the one issue I have left in the too hard basket since
purchasing the 1Ds. I use AWB for most of my work and really only use the
tungsten or flouro setting where needed for indoor shots. I've had no real
problems with only occassionally casts (often blue at the racetrack) which I
fix in PS later where necessary. It sounds like there might be a better
solution out there though and having reread the chapter on CWB and PF WB
settings this morning, I still have no idea what it is. The five step CWB
procedure is certainly not something I have time for on location generally,
or if it means to do this beforehand then call it up through the menu on
location - why is that so different to what Canon have programmed into AWB ?

And why is WB in natural light an issue with a digital sensor but not with
film?

I would appreciate hearing the logic behind these other WB options in simple
laymans terms, and to hearing what steps you actually use on location to get
the WB result you are looking for.

Thanks, Tim,
