Thank you Stuart for pointing that out to me.

I would think it is hard for Canon and the likes of Sigma, Tamron,
Tokina etc etc not to make new lenses as go get big inroads into the
DSLR 1.6X crop market.

I mean, how many people are buying 1Ds vs 10D?

I've been very very seriously thinking about a 15-30. I still think that
within the next 2 months or so, there will be a lot more lenses for this
range. Nikon seems to be getting a great lens range for (12-24, 18-55,
fisheye).

The EF-S leses do NOT fit the D30/D60/10D - currently the only camera
that will accept EF-S lenses is the 300D. From what I have read the
lenses will not physically mount on anything else - the 300D has a white
dot on the lens mount to which EF-S lenses are aligned when mounting and
a red-dot for alignment of EF lenses.

If you're interested, the 300D's manual is available online at
http://www.canoneos.com/digitalrebel/download/manual.pdf.

The Sigma 15-30 is close... but a 12-24/4 would be nice :)
