I think that one has to decide for himself. What I wrote were my observations only and 
may not apply to other persons. My view is this:

- I would not SWITCH to digital. I would get it in PARALLEL with a film body.
- and I will sell 300 D because it is too pricy for me at the moment, considering what 
it offers and with what kind of photography I am involved.

For you, it might be a completely different matter, or not.

Otherwise, I just love being able to change ISO rating on the fly, without even 
looking at the controls. It's great.
