Hi Everyone
I picked up an EOS d30 on ebay that had been splashed.
It was dead but few signs of corrosion. After cleaning
out the mildly rusty contacts I was able to get
flashing of the card light and some info on the top
display and then an error 80 out of it, indicating
that the shutter wasn't winding (the mirror was up) So
I manually wound up the shutter just to the point
before it releases and now I get an error 81,
indicating the mirror down position can not be
confirmed. Hey, at leasyt the cpu seems to be working!
I could of course wind it up some more and see what
happens but it requires the re-removal of boards with
flimsy ribbon wire and I might do more damage than
good. So the problem is that the motor isn't being
driven and I have yet again bitten off more than I can
chew. So here's my question: Is there anybody here who
can handle a D30 with these symptoms? Does anyone know
of someone who can do it affordably who knows what
he's doing? I'd like to get this puppy working at some
point. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Javier
