I don't agree with this at all. Maybe Canon will lower the price at the same time but I very much doubt they will lower the price of the 1Ds BECAUSE they lowered the price of the 10d. Somebody who is willing to pay $7k-$8k doesn't care if the price of the next lower model decreased from $1.5k to $1k. It's like saying that somebody who is in the market for a Ferrari Enzo @ ~$750k would suddenly consider a Ferrari Modena when the price is lowered from $160k to $110k. It's quite a different story if a competitor comes into the SAME market segment at a much lower price, though.
