Not sure if you want to warn people for that temperature range, but note that not even the 1D(s) has a better official specification. I have nagged several Canon rep's about this, but none had a good explanation. Note that the 1V even shows battery-performance for -20C....so they know very well to specify things like that, if they want to, and can life up to it. That's not saying that the 1D(s) won't function at -20C, those Canon rep's too pointed me at sponsored tours in arctic climates, but I also believe that Li-Ion batteries are not happy at all at those temperatures, unlike NiCd (NiMH is much worse than NiCd too, see also near the end of this article: http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/battery.htm ). (from http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/eos_1v.txt I read that the camera itself is specified for -10C, but the above battery-spec's are definitely listed -20C, officially by Canon....the contradictory continues....8-)) -- Bye, Willem-Jan Markerink The desire to understand is sometimes far less intelligent than the inability to understand <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> [note: 'a-one' & 'en-el'!] * **** ******* *********************************************************** * For list instructions, including unsubscribe, see: * http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/eos_list.htm ***********************************************************
