You could always cannibalize an Apple iPod Mini as it has the same 4Gb MicroDrive in it, though it does cost $50 more than the least expensive MuVo2. It's still better than paying $399 for the bare drive.
AFAIK, no one has gotten the MicroDrive from the iPod mini to work with a digital camera. Drives installed in Apple products usually have an Apple-specific firmware installed (and this probably would have prevented the MicroDrive from working with other devices).
