The best way to clear spurious errors is to give you camera a full reset. Yank the main (rechargeable) battery as well as the CR2032 button back-up battery. Take off the lens and grip (if available) and leave the camera sitting overnight.
The next morning, clean all of the lens contact areas with a clean cloth. The plastic erasers or contact cleaners are also good ways to get residue off them. Clean both the camera body contacts and lens body contacts.
Put everything back together, if it still has problems, send to Canon and hope it's not a big bill. But it's better to send it in now, when it's in warrantee, then worry over it until the warrantee ends.
